I wonder how many of these were smuggled into the US? I always thought they were neat cars. It'd be awesome to do a six pack swap on a 440 car!

I've seen a few on Craigslist. Tried to make an appointment to see one once, but the guy told me it was already sold. I had a sad.

If I remember correctly, I saw one a couple of months ago sitting at a small auto garage. I was a bit stunned that such a beasty would make N.W. Ohio its home.

I believe I've seen one. Once. However, I've seen a handful for sale on CL and Ebay.

I've seen a few, though living in a major city, I guess my odds might be higher. There were at least two at a local cruise night once.

They were sold new in America. I think a couple hundred made it, maybe more. Remember, this just before all the emissions and safety regs got super expensive to deal with. And the emissions regs were easy for Jensen since they used already compliant Chrysler V8s.

My cousin owns a paint shop in western PA and did some restoration work on a blue 440 car. It belonged to a client who was a big to-do with Westinghouse in Pittsburgh. I saw a couple of them for sale in Auto Trader in the 90s. Also saw one at Charlotte Auto Fair a few years back. It was parked with an Iso Grifo, a Pantera, and a 289 Mangusta.
Beautiful.

Believe it or not, there was a senior at the Air Force Academy who had one as his college DD. Would park it next to my XJS during the week when we weren't allowed to leave the campus. Poor guy worked on keeping it running more than he drove it.... then again so did I the first year.

I've seen several, and a couple of rare convertibles too.
